Beginning her career in editorial illustration, Kristen has expanded her work to include publishing, creating picture books and illustrated book covers. Her debut picture book, Can We Give the Police Departments to the Grandmothers, received multiple starred reviews and was celebrated for its vision of community care.
Known for her light, joyful style and bursts of color, Kristen uses her art to spark joy, inspire connection, and renew moral imagination.
She earned a Bachelors of Fine Art in Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, graduating with honors and receiving the Faculty Award for excellence in the field of illustration.
Kristen is also a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
